Directions to Our Practice
If you’ve never been to our practice, we can give you two easy routes, using the historic Bain Cabin in Bain Park as a starting point.
- From the park, get onto North Park Dr and head east, then turn left to go north on 210th St. After a mile and a half, take a sharp left onto Center Ridge Rd. Watch for us coming up on your left. We’re in the building immediately after the Taco Bell.
- Alternatively, you could turn left onto North Park Dr and follow the bend to the west, then turn right onto 220th St. Keep going straight when it becomes Spencer Rd, and stay on Spencer Rd when it bends at the intersection with Addington Blvd. Turn right onto Center Ridge Rd. We’re in the building right before the Taco Bell!
How Much Local History Do You Know?
Fairview Park, rich in history and character, has its roots in what was originally part of Rockport Township, before becoming the Rocky River hamlet. The hamlet was officially incorporated as a village in 1903. By 1910, a division occurred: the northern area evolved into what is now known as Rocky River, and the southern section was renamed Goldwood. Subsequently, portions of Goldwood Township were annexed to Rocky River, and Goldwood itself was later incorporated as a village.
Following further subdivisions, the northern segment of Goldwood transformed into the Village of Fairview (later renamed Fairview Village), while the southwestern corner, together with areas along Center Ridge Road, continued as Goldwood until it was incorporated as Parkview Village in 1925.
Both Fairview Village and Parkview remained quaint suburbs, overshadowed by neighboring Cleveland, which had expanded by annexing most of what was West Park in 1923. Economic challenges in 1929 spurred discussions of annexation to Cleveland, but Fairview Village opted for independence, a decision that preserved its separate identity.
Significant development began post-World War II, notably spurred by the opening of the Fairview Shopping Center in 1947 on Lorain Road. This shopping destination became a magnet for former Cleveland residents, contributing to the area’s growth. By 1950, the population of the village surged to 9,234, prompting its elevation to the status of the City of Fairview Park. The community adopted its first city charter in 1958, marking a pivotal moment in its governance.
In 1967, the remaining Parkview region was also annexed to Fairview, completing the formation of the city as it is known today. This history not only highlights Fairview Park’s growth from a humble hamlet to a vibrant city but also underscores its enduring spirit of community and independence.
